Texxas World Music Festival, commonly known as Texxas Jam was held from 1978 - 1988 in Dallas, Texas at the Cotton Bowl and at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas. Attendance ranged from 60,000 - 85,000 each year. I have often wondered why there never has been a book about Texxas Jam over the years. I personally attended seven of the eleven Texxas Jams and recently had the desire to put together a soft cover/hard cover compilation book (8 1/2 x 11) of photographs that I had taken along with four fellow photographers Freddy Salazar, Mike Joray, Michael Insuaste and Bruce Kessler. None of us had the opportunity to photograph every band at each Texxas Jam, so the compilation is incomplete. Nevertheless, we feel you will enjoy the 180 plus concert and backstage photographs. Photograph taken at Texxas Jam II, 1979 from the stage before Sammy Hagar's performance
Photos of Aerosmith, Ted Nugent, Journey, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Eddie Money, Van Halen, Cheech and Chong, Heart, Head East, Blue Oyster Cult, Boston, Sammy Hagar, Eagles, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, April Wine, REO Speedwagon, Foghat, Journey, Point Blank, Uriah Heep, Triumph, Styx, Rush, .38 Special, Ozzy Osbourne, Bryan Adams, Gary Moore, Scorpions, Grim Reaper, Victory, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Dio, Krokus, Keel, Whitesnake, Farrenheit, Dokken, plenty of crowd shots at the Cotton Bowl, Astrodome, backstage photos and more. The Black and White versions of TEXXAS JAM:1978-1988 in Hardcover and Softcover are still available at www.texxasjambook.com/indexblackandwhite.htm |
